Medical Advice and Cautions Mum and Baby Yoga/Baby Massage:

  • Before starting a yoga class check with your doctor and teacher if you have any concerns about you or your baby’s health. Be sure to tell your teacher about any concerns or physical limitations either of you may have.

  • When you practice yoga postures listen to yourself and your body, respect its individuality and limitations and have confidence in your own sense of right and wrong. Do not continue any movement that causes you discomfort or pain.

  • Avoid comparing yourself or your baby with anyone else; yoga is about celebrating individuality and working with you and your baby’s own strengths and weaknesses. Yoga is not a competitive practice! So be content with what you and your baby can achieve.

  • If you or your baby are unwell you should not attend class (please adhere to the Breathing Space Yoga Covid-19 policy - link in the website footer).

  • When practising with your baby, never rush or force anything. Look for your baby’s cues. Stop if they are not enjoying it or if you feel stressed or tense, just take a break and come back to the practice later.

  • If your baby is crying excessively and cannot be comforted, he/she may be ill. Never practice on a distressed baby, or if your baby is limp, pale, has a temperature, or any difficulties breathing. Please seek appropriate medical help.

  • Don’t wake your baby for yoga or massage, wait until they are awake.

  • If your baby is hungry feed them before yoga or massage practice and wait 20 minutes before practising yoga. You can massage a baby straight after a feed if you avoid their tummy.

  • It is not recommended to practice yoga or massage within 24 hours of your baby’s immunisations.

  • Don’t massage your baby if their skin is broken or bruised.

  • If know you can't make a class or are going to be late, please do call or text before class to let the teacher know.

  • You are fully and personally responsible for your own and your baby’s safety and actions during class.

 

Mum and Baby Yoga and Baby Massage T&Cs

  • You must pay for your class in advance to confirm your space. Passes can be bought online via Punchpass or paid for in advance in class using cash.

  • each half term block is date specific and there are no refunds for missed classes.

  • If your baby begins to crawl during the half-term block I will refund you for the rest of the block if you decide not to continue.

  • If I have to cancel a class due to illness (including covid-19) the class will be refunded or rearranged

  • If I have to self-isolate or our venue closes due to covid-19 I will ensure that you have anytime access to a number of Breathing Space Yoga classes that have been filmed during lockdown. - I will provide live zoom online classes where possible (as I may have childcare to consider) – these may not be at the usual time of your class but I will accommodate class times as much as possible. There will be no refunds if I have to cancel due to self-isolation.
